In summer 2015 the Dokka Delta National Wetland Centre opened a nature house within the Dokka Delta nature reserve in Odnes (Gamlevegen 84 2879 Odnes). We hold exhibitions here as well as nature interpretation for all ages but with the main focus on school groups. Inside the building you will find a large uninsulated room with seating - dominated by large windows offering a fantastic view over the Dokka Delta and the Randsfjorden. There are also toilets and office facilities and a kitchen within the building. Around the building there is an outdoor activity area that DNV utilises. The building can be hired by both the public and private sector.

The centre is perfect for events, meetings, courses and gatherings and can be hired for these purposes. There is tableware, a basic kitchen, chairs, a projector, canvases and four tables available. We cannot remove our exhibitions on display, and these must not be disturbed.

The visitor centre also has canoes to hire with the relevant equipment.

We can offer guided tours around the area to experience the bird life. These must be arranged in advance. The visitor centre can supply binoculars and telescopes if people wish to loan these.

Hire prices:

Public sector per day for the office section

Public sector per day for the exhibition section

Private events (the whole building)

We make the centre available to hire on the principle that we can trust the people who wish to hire it. The premises and the equipment should be used as agreed. The person responsible for hiring the premises should be the last one to leave the premises.

Everyone responsible for hiring the premises should be aware of the following.

  • The premises and the outside area should be left in the same condition as upon arrival.
  • Those responsible for the hiring should ensure that the premises and equipment is clean and tidy when they leave.
  • Users must bring their own dishcloths, tea towels, handtowels and toilet paper.
  • The water needs to be turned on upon arrival and turned off when leaving. This is achieved by pressing the switch next to the main door marked ‘’waterstop’’ to either off or on.
  • Keys to the large doors in the uninsulated room can be found in the top draw in the kitchen.
  • Ensure that the emergancy exits are unlocked and free from obstacles.
  • Locate the fire-fighting equipment.
  • Ensure that you have a good overview over the number of participants/guests.
  • The only person with permission to drive into the area is the person responsible for hiring the premises. All other users should be directed to the car park.
  • The person responsible for hiring the premises is responsible for clearing snow away from the main entrance and the emergency exits in winter.
  • The premises are strictly no-smoking.
  • The person hiring is responsible for and will be charged for any damages to the premises or equipment. The person responsible for hiring will be charged for any cleaning that we have to conduct if there is evidence of a lack of/insufficient cleaning.
